Cheeto is sitting there looking a VERY relaxed and I think that he might have gotten into some catnip.
Now to be clear, we have absolutely no idea if Cheeto actually had any catnip. There is no evidence, no witnesses, and certainly no confession from Cheeto himself. For all we know, he was probably just having a lazy afternoon (more lazy than usual).
But you know this picture makes you think a little…
Usually, Cheeto looks pretty alert as he notices people walking by and watches what is happening around him. He generally seems to know exactly what is going on but in this picture, he looks completely different. He is sitting there with that slightly distant look in his eyes, as if his mind is somewhere else entirely.
He also looks a little wobbly (not in a concerning way) in the kind of way that makes you think he might have just finished doing something he probably shouldn’t have been doing. He looks like he sat down for a minute and then completely forgot why he sat down in the first place.
Maybe he saw a bird and lost track of time, maybe someone gave him a treat, maybe he was simply tired after a long day of doing whatever it is that Cheeto does all day.
Or maybe, just maybe, he discovered catnip.

Again, we can’t say that for sure as this is purely speculation based on one picture and Cheeto’s very suspicious looking expression. But if you have ever seen a cat after discovering catnip, you know the look. There is something about the combination of the relaxed posture, the blank stare, and the complete lack of urgency that makes this picture suspicious.
The best part is that Cheeto doesn’t seem bothered by any of it because he isn’t trying to get anywhere. He isn’t worried about what anyone thinks, he is just sitting there, looking comfortable, and letting the rest of us try to figure out what is going on inside his head.
Maybe he was thinking about food, maybe he was watching something in the distance, maybe he was planning his next nap, or maybe there wasn’t a single thought going in there.
Whatever happened before this picture was taken, Cheeto clearly wasn’t in any hurry to explain himself. He just sat there and enjoyed the moment. If catnip was involved, we’ll probably never know. And if it wasn’t, then Cheeto has somehow managed to look like he had some anyway.
Either way, we don’t actually know what happened. Cheeto isn’t saying anything and we’re not going to bother him by asking too many questions.
